Arriving
The address of the property is No 4 Victoria Terrace, Trefriw, Conwy LL27 0JL
what3 words ///anchors.corals.chaos
You may be arriving from the eastwards direction via the coastal route and can either come off the A55 at junction 19 and take the A470 south or continue to junction 20 and come down the B5106 via Conwy. The B5106 is a slower route through a string of villages on the westward side of the Conwy Valley.
The alternative routes are via the A470 or A5 northwards from the Birmingham and Shrewsbury direction to Betws y Coed where you have a choice of crossing the Conwy river onto the B5106 or continuing to Llanrwst along the A470 and crossing the river there.
The stone bridge at Llanrwst over the river dates from 1703 and is attributed to Indigo Jones. It is a single vehicle width with warning lights to drivers approaching from the Trefriw side that a vehicle has started climbing up to the blind top from the Llanrwst side which is meant to have priority. In practice it tends to be a case of the driver who is less committed or hasn't reached the top who reverses. Watching drivers do this is a spectator sport for visitors sitting outside of the Ty Hwnt i'r Bont cafe but it doesn't take long to get the hang of it.
Please remember that some of the towns and villages in Wales have 20 mph zones and speed camera vans rotate around different locations which can be found at: https://www.gosafe.org/#camera-map
Tu Hwnt i'r Bont alongside the bridge at Llanrwst. The virginia creeper was given a trim in January 2025 to avoid damage to the roof but the building remains pretty and it will regrow quickly.
In the summer months the cottage is a cafe and well worth a visit for bara brith, Welsh cakes and scones with tea.
Reaching Victoria Terrace
When you arrive at postcode LL27 0JL you'll have just turned uphill in front of the gates to St Mary's Church in Trefriw. There is also a large Church of Wales building uphill of you with tiered circular steps.
No 4 is in the centre of Victoria Terrace up above the graveyard.
Unfortunately its the steep hills in Wales that give us great views.
This is your parking or drop off location for passengers and luggage.

Victoria Terrace itself is a cul de sac with no turning space and can only accommodate 3 or so small parked cars at any one time.
Because there is no turning space in the street and the road in between the 2 churches is so narrow we would strongly recommend that you do not attempt to drive up the hill into the street. In practice it is challenging for longer cars and those with low skirts or trims to reverse down in between the walls.
There is a collapsible trolley in the bin store which can be used if you'd like to do so - if you walk up the hill and take the small path next to the yew tree you'll find the black wooden fence with a gate secured with a digilock. Use the same code as the front door keybox to unlock the digilock and you'll find the trolley inside its cover in the bin store as you enter the courtyard.
If you would prefer help to unload your luggage this can normally be provided from 5pm on the day of arrival subject to availability. Please let us know and we'll do what we can to help as soon as possible after your arrival.
Our apologies for any inconvenience the location causes and we appreciate the hill up to the house is steep. The view should hopefully be worth the while.

Check in
The normal check in time would be 4pm on the day of arrival but if there are no guests departing on the same day we will share an earlier time from which you can arrive with you the day before.
You may have arrived in the area before 4pm and if it has been possible to turn the property around on the same day earlier than 4pm we will message you as soon as it is ready so that you can settle in.
Parking in Trefriw
Parking in Trefriw
Outside of the summer months you can park on the main road through the village, the B5106, on the double yellow lines - use the parking restriction signage as a guide. There are a couple of restricted 20 minute parking spaces outside of the post office which are best avoided during the day. Otherwise there are no resident parking permit schemes or pay and display car parks, you can park in any public area that isn't signed as restricted. There is a large public car park on Gower Road and we'd suggest you use this once you've dropped off luggage. This is the car park Google Maps pin: https://maps.app.goo.gl/v3iSMrvrgk7piSYD7
There is a key box on the wall to the left of the front door. Rotate the numbers until the 4 digit code you've been given is in line with the markers either side and bring down the small black release latch to the left of the numbers to open the front of the key box. There is 1 front door key on a fob inside the key box.
You've entered No 4 on what we call the ground floor which is the middle floor of the building. The courtyard accessed along the small path next to the yew tree is at lower ground floor level. If you walk along this path you'll find the black wooden fence to the courtyard with a gate secured with a digilock. Use the same code as the front door keybox to unlock the digilock. If you have bikes with you please take them along this path to the courtyard.

We hope this is the perfect village centre getaway location for you. A cosy and comfortable bolthole that you can use as a base while you explore the North West corner of Snowdonia.
Sheep crossing a bridge in Cwm Eigiau. This quiet mountain valley has interesting slate mine ruins and you'll also see the wild ponies.
